Description

Here's the reference sheet for Redline, along with some notes on her powers, personality, background and body language:

The only metahuman field agent of the Chicago Police Department, Kacey Maguire uses her ballistic speed and locomotive power to defend the Windy City and its inhabitants from homicidal mutants, costumed crimelords, and other superhuman threats. Though Kacey can run as fast as Mach 1.72 (1,140mph), the faster she moves; the less maneuverable she becomes. Incredibly agile at speeds up to 300mph, she becomes a human projectile capable only of straight line movement at speeds in excess of 600mph. When moving at high-speed, Kacey’s body generates a force field that protects her from impact, heat, windburn, and oxygen deprivation. The field is crimson in color and leaves a visible energy trail in her wake, a visual signature that led the Chicago press to dub Kacey ‘Redline’ when she made her superheroic debut.

A tough, dedicated, and confident (some might even say cocky) third-generation cop, Redline is a law enforcement professional first and a superhero second. As a sworn officer of the Chicago PD, she operates with full police powers and sanction, but is duty-bound to adhere to legal procedure when fighting crime. As a city employee her identity is a matter of record, making her vulnerable to public outcry and susceptible to political pressure. Despite these challenges, Redline’s bravery, ‘girl next door’ good looks, and sly sense of humor have made her very popular with most Chicagoans. But can she continue to keep the peace without compromising her principles in a city on the verge of a superhuman gang war?

Nifty illustration, fascinating write-up. I totally agree about street-level supers having short hair. Of course, I think short-haired redheaded tomboy types are hot, so my viewpoint might be biased. Grin.
