I got this amazing commission of Redline from Wildstorm artist Eddie Nunez [link] at this year's Wondercon. For some crazy reason, TPTB at Wondercon decided to put Jim Lee's booth about a million miles from the rest of the Wildstorm crew, so I didn't even realize the guys were there until Saturday, when I stopped by, had a really enjoyable conversation with Joel Gomez [link] , and booked a commission with Eddie for the next day.

Sunday turned out to be a really busy day -- so Eddie wound up starting this piece about 90 minutes before the con hall was scheduled to close. Despite all of these complications, it turned out fantastic -- nothing 'rushed' about it whatsoever!

One of the really cool things about hanging out with the Wildstorm guys at cons is watching them feed off each other's talent and enthusiasm. While Eddie was working on this piece, J. J. Kirby would chime it from time to time with suggestions and constructive criticism -- all of which contributed to its overall awesomeness.

As you can tell, I could not be happier with how this commission turned out, and will definitely be looking to work with Eddie again!

One last note: the title of the piece refers to a request Eddie made of me. When I handed him the character reference for Redline, I included some pics of her usual sidearm, the Heckler and Koch USP Compact.

Eddie asked if he could take a few creative liberties with the gun design, as fellow Wildstormer Carlos D'Anda had been pushing him to step up his gun design skills, and I said sure.

The kickass gun in the pic was the result -- it's so damn cool I think I may need to make it a regular part of her arsenal!
